This selfie station was designed and hand-painted by me, Calgary muralist Rachel Lyon, exclusively for Cowboys Music Festival to celebrate 30 years of legendary entertainment and the artists that have shaped the festival over the years.
About Me
My name is Rachel Lyon, and I am a Calgary-based professional muralist and multidisciplinary artist known for creating bold, vibrant artwork, transforming spaces and sparking connection. My work often incorporates bold design elements, custom typography, and punchy colour palettes.
I love to collaborate with a wide range of clients, from businesses and brands seeking eye-catching, Instagram-worthy installations, homeowners looking to bring personality and creativity into their spaces, and event producers wanting to enhance their environments and leave a lasting impressing with their guests.
Committed to supporting local communities, I deeply value collaboration, relationship-building, and mentorship within the arts. I am dedicated to helping grow the mural and creative industries while inspiring the next generation of artists.

Meet the Team
Alicia-Cecilia Zaldivar

Alicia Zaldivar is an interdisciplinary artist and a fourth-year student at Alberta University of the Arts. Her works explore the use of play as a methodology for navigating heavier themes: presence and non-presence, life and loss. Zaldivar currently lives, works, and studies in Calgary, Alberta.
J is a multidisciplinary artist who enjoys pushing the boundaries of the mediums he is working with either chemically or physically. His work is usually very expressive and surreal, using a myriad of techniques he has refined over the past two decades. Initially educated in the digital arts as a character and environment artist he eventually found his way into more traditional oil painting. He is currently finishing off a Bachelor of Arts majoring in glassblowing where he is exploring fleeting ephemerality and chaotic balance.
Karly Zouppas is a Canadian artist from Winnipeg, Manitoba, living and working in Mohkínstsis (Calgary, Alberta), Treaty 7 Territory. Her practice includes sculpture, painting, fibre arts, photography, and digital design. She is currently finishing up her second Bachelor's degree at the Alberta University of the Arts. Her background in Anthropology (UBC), the funeral industry, taxidermy, and publishing highlights Karly's desire for new experiences and diversity. A self-proclaimed nerd across many topics, Karly enjoys reading books, watching movies, and playing with her two cats when she isn't elbow-deep in a new art project.
Keith Ward

Keith Ward is a queer artist based in Calgary. As a multi-disciplinary artist he has experience in exploring different mediums such as acrylic, charcoal, and sculpture; though his current focus is in oil painting. His practice explores the themes of identity, perception, and the body through visual narratives captured in subtle details and composition. Bringing a unique light to his exploratory art by challenging both his own worldview and his sense of self.
