Why I Wrote This Book
I wrote this book because mural painting felt strangely inaccessible when I was starting out, even though it didn’t need to be.
While I found plenty of inspiration online, I found very little honest, beginner-level information about what mural painting was actually like, or how to price my work. Alot of it made murals feel intimidating, risky, or reserved for people who already had permission, confidence, or experience. After a few years of mentoring local and aspiring muralists, I thought it was time to finally put my brain dump of knowledge onto paper and be able to provide accessible learning for anyone who is starting out.
I wrote this book to answer the questions beginners are often embarrassed to ask:
Am I ready for this?
What if I mess it up?
What do I actually need?
How do I plan without overthinking?
How do professionals make decisions on the wall?
Everything inside is based on my own real-world experience - what worked, what didn’t, what I wish I’d known sooner, and what actually matters. This isn’t a hustle guide. I want to help you approach mural painting thoughtfully, confidently, and sustainably, so that your first experiences with murals build momentum instead of stress.
